The proposal consisted of 20 wind turbines with a total capacity of up to 50MW;
Typical turbine dimensions: 80 metres to the hub, blades 45.2m long and rotor diameter 92.5m (total height to tip is 126.25m);
Electricity generated would supply the local distribution network providing much needed electrical generation in Cornwall and the South West;
The windfarm would contribute approximately 50% of Cornwall's 2010 Renewable Energy target in one development;
Farming can continue right up to turbine bases;
Turbine locations have been designed to stand within abandoned taxi-ways and runways within Davidstow Woods;
Ecological proposals and enhancements included a Sanctuary Area to be managed specifically for Golden Plover, implementation of a no shooting zone, creation of a Biodiversity Management Committee.
